GEDLING WOMEN'S INSTITUTE'S PROGRAMME OF EVENTS 2022/2023
Throughout the year we organise events and activities for members.
The Committee meets on a regular basis in order to plan as varied a programme as possible, to cater for a wide variety of interests and at the same time fulfilling the aims of the WI.
It is a great opportunity to learn something new, to have a good time and to make new friends.
We meet at Gedling Road Methodist Church on Gedling Road, Carlton Nottingham NG4 3EX at 7:00pm on the 1st Tuesday of the month. The Church is at the junction of Burton Road and Main Road. The Church is served by two nearby bus routes. Our events for 2022/2023 are:
2022
Tuesday April 5th Annual Meeting. Talk by John Whitfield 'The Mountbattens' Tuesday May 3rd Resolutions Evening
A resolution is a call for change on a current issue in society. The resolutions are put forward by Women's Institute members and are short-listed. At this meeting our members have the opportunity to vote on which resolution they consider should be adopted at the Annual WI Meeting. The resolution adopted is then turned into a campaign by the WI Public Affairs Department. This process means that WI members have a unique opportunity to turn a concern into a national campaign every year, backed by the whole of the WI.
