Come join us – You don’t need to be retired to join the WI!
You’re very welcome to just turn up to our meetings; if you want to try us out before you join, visitors can attend for up to two meetings for £4.00 per meeting (including refreshments).
What to expect! Our meetings run for about two hours, and don’t worry about coming on your own, many of our ladies do and you will be made most welcome.
Our meetings vary from inspiring guest speakers on a wide range of subjects to crafty get-togethers, social times such as 'natter nights', our annual tea party and our Members' Christmas party - with the odd coffee and cake thrown in for good measure! There is then some brief W.I business such as future events, visits and activities.
We can help you to expand your horizons and make new friends, take up new interests, learn new crafts and develop new skills.
We meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month in the Memorial Hall on Arnold Lane at Gedling, Nottingham NG4 3HH, directly opposite the Church of All Hallows at 7.30pm.
Membership
If you decide you would like to be a member of the WI, the cost for 2020 membership is £43.00 and includes the year's meetings and copies of the WI Life Magazine.
New members joining the WI in 2020 for the first time, or who have not previously been a member of any WI in the past 10 years, will pay a pro-rata subscription depending on the quarter in which they join. The rate per quarter depends on the date of joining and is detailed below:
1 Jan-31 Mar
£43.00
1 Apr-30 Jun
£32.25
1 Jul-30 Sep
£21.50
1 Oct-31 Dec
£10.75
Dual membership
WI members can belong to more than one WI, by paying the full membership fee to the first WI and a further fee to the additional WI. For 2020 this additional fee is £21.10. This entitles you to take a full and active part in any additional WIs and have full voting rights on matters relating to your primary WI.
